The New Sophisticated and Sporty Škoda Scala!
The Škoda Scala is yet another model Škoda have meticulously tweaked and redesigned for 2024 and it’s said to be sophisticated, sporty, and more distinctive than its predecessor. Although not much has changed with the powertrains of the car, the design features have experienced an overhaul as well as the newly slimmed down trim choice.
Let’s take a closer look at the brand new Škoda Scala hatchback and start with the tweaked exterior of the car.
The infamous Škoda grille has been redesigned to be larger but still incorporating the vertical slats and the juxtaposition of matt and glossy surfaces gives the appearance of the front of the car a multi-textured look.
Sticking with grilles, the Scala’s bumper has had an overhaul to accommodate the central air-intake as well as giving the intake grille a mesh look incorporating diamond-shaped segments for a 3D look.
When the Scala was being redesigned, it was crafted to become more distinctive and dynamic, and this is beautifully reinforced by the slimmed down headlights which for the first time on a Scala include LED Matrix technology.
Moving around to the rear of the Scala, the optional extended rear window made of black glass stretches all the way across the back of the car to the taillights creating a stunning contour line to the loading sill below.
As we move inside the new Scala, the décor mimics that of the electric Enyaq range and the new model of Kamiq to interpret a modern living space.
Redesigned elements include the seat covers, instrument panel and door trims which all feature more sustainable fabrics and natural materials such as hemp and kenaf (a type of Hibiscus plant) fibres.
As we’ve seen with previous models of the hatchback, the trim ranges have been littered with options for your car, however in the interest of a simpler buying experience for the consumer, the Scala trim levels and powertrains have been slimmed back with a 1litre and a 1.5 litre engine.
The trim levels consist of the SE, SE L and the Monte Carlo. The SE trim gives you options such as of 16” Orion alloy wheels, the new Loft interior, keyless start/stop and dual-zone climate control.
The SEL trim lets you have larger 17” Stratos alloys, 9.2” Škoda navigation display, and privacy glass. Included with this trim is the ambient lighting package available in white or red.
The Monte Carlo trim is the highest trim level of the new Scala with 18” Ursa black brushed alloys, the new and improved Monte Carlo interior as well as black door mirrors, grille, and lettering on the boot lid to give the Scala a hot hatchback feel.
The Scala is a fantastic option for a family hatchback with enough space for everyone, a learner passing their driving test with the smaller engine sizes but still carrying the style value and even better for those who commute frequently!
