One lucky winner scooped the top
prize of a brand new Volkswagen Take Up! Car in Metro Radio’s Cash for Kids
recent campaign and all because she said “Thank You!”
The Mission Thank you Campaign,
led by Cash for Kids, gave local people and companies the opportunity to
publically thank their friends, family, neighbours and customers and by doing
so, were entered into a raffle to win a fabulous new Volkswagen Take Up! car,
donated by Pulman Volkswagen.
The campaign was to remind people
of just how important it is to say ‘thank you’.
On average, people hear a spoken ‘thank you’ 5-10 times a day, and over
60% of people believe that receiving a ‘thank you’ brightens up their day. Over
40% of people think that as a nation, we don’t say ‘thank you’ enough, and the
goal of Mission Thank You was to reverse this trend.
The Cash for Kids and radio team including
presenters Steve and Karen, Brian Moore and Stu Elmore toured the region displaying
random acts of kindness, giving gifts to members of the public and completing a
fundraising bag pack at Asda, Metrocentre. Members of the public entered into
the spirit by paying a £1 donation and sending a thank you message to someone
who deserved it.
The lucky winner was Valerie from
Penrith who said: “I can’t believe I’ve won, I’m in total shock!”
