CUPRA Impulse Event 2022

In June 2022 our CUPRA Specialist, Lee Hawley, attended the CUPRA Impulse Event in Terramar (Stiges) near Barcelona. Find out what happened during the event…

CUPRA returned to Terramar (Stiges) where the CUPRA story began four years ago to unveil the next generation of electrified models which are all due to be released by 2025.

During the event, CUPRA showcased the entire range of their next generation of heroes which will be launched by 2025 including the Terramar, Tavascan and UrbanRebel. Find out more about each of the new models below.

CUPRA Terramar

The CUPRA Terramar* will be CUPRA’s first sporty electrified SUV combining bold proportions and a striking design. The sporty mid-size SUV takes its name from Autódromo de Sitges-Terramar historic racing circuit around the corner from the brand’s base in Martorell, Barcelona.

CUPRA are keeping the interior design under wraps for now. Version-wise, the brand have claimed their flagship plug-in version will offer up to 62 miles of pure electric miles. Petrol versions of the CUPRA Terramar will also be available, but CUPRA have not outline their engine line-up just yet.

We can expect to see the final design, specification and interior to be revealed in 2023.

CUPRA Tavascan

The all-electric Tavascan* will remain faithful to its concept car CUPRA teased in 2019. Little information has been revealed just yet on the design and specification although the Tavascan will more than likely be offered the same powertrain as the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX. This means a 77kWh battery offering around 300 mile electric range and 295bhp.

The CUPRA Tavascan will be CUPRA’s second all-electric vehicle and is due to be released in 2024, more information on the specifications and final designs will be released in 2023 ahead of its launch.

CUPRA UrbanRebel

Due to be released in 2025, CUPRA will bring its urban all-electric car to the market which will clearly resemble design traits from the CUPRA Tavascan.

From the outside the UrbanRebel will hold the sporty title yet on the interior you can expect it to be very futuristic with plenty of room for the driver and passengers.

“The UrbanRebel* is more than just a car to us. This is the model that will democratise urban electric mobility. Accessible and sustainable, this will be the next generation’s entry into our range.”, said Wayne Griffiths during the Impulse event.

CUPRA also hinted during the Impulse event updates on the current range (CUPRA Leon, CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Born) to be renewed by 2025.

Lee Hawley, CUPRA Specialist at CUPRA Sunderland commented, "The CUPRA Impulse Event was a real eye-opener to the future of CUPRA. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to witness the upcoming electric models CUPRA has to offer. The trip was fantastic and I'm thankful for being invited."
